Welcome to the Getscores.org blog!

Hello, and welcome to my first post on this getscores.org blog site.
It's a very busy time for the site. I have been operating with the same old code and server for almost three years now. Through the generous help of DXer and contester David, KY1V (of ASPWebhosting.com and UltraDX fame), we are the process adding new equipment and writing new code for the site.

Progress on the update has been slow for a variety of reasons, most of them NOT technical. This weekend I'm attempting to get the basic framework up and running. However, it's right in the middle of ARRL DX Phone, and I do not want to disturb the site too much!

I know many people are excited about our new mode of operation -- live logging to the site. We will be using this for the initial running of the ARRL Rookie Roundup contest. I'll try and get the documents describing the API (Applications Programming Interface) published before the end of the weekend. The API documents describe the interface contest program authors will use to interface with the site.

My goal is to beta the new live-logging features in March, so that we can have a few dry runs before the SSB Rookie Roundup in April.

Thanks to all those out there who have been supporting the site -- especially with it's current obvious flaws. Look for much better performance and control in the new version 2.0 of getscores.org.

I'll provide frequent updates as I progress through the upgrade.
